Founder & Peer Consultant

Amir Friedman, MD

Dr. Amir Friedman is an Interventional Pain Management physician with advanced training in minimally invasive spinal procedures and Functional and Integrative Medicine. He trained at some of the nation’s most prestigious institutions—including UCLA and USC—and served on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He went on to build a thriving private practice and Ambulatory Surgery Center in Southern California, where he was known for delivering competent, compassionate, and cutting-edge care to patients suffering from chronic pain and injury.

But nothing in his medical training prepared him for the experience of being under investigation.

Like many physicians, Dr. Friedman had dedicated his life to medicine—not just as a profession, but as an identity and calling. The idea of not being a physician was unthinkable. His father was a physician, medicine was in his DNA. So when his license—and everything it represented—came under threat, the impact was seismic. The emotional toll was immense. The financial burden was staggering. The fear of the unknown was paralyzing. And the ripple effects on his marriage, children, and extended family were profound.

He describes that time as one of terror: not just fear for his livelihood, but the shame, isolation, and helplessness that accompany a process few understand—until they’re in it. What he longed for most was clarity. A lighthouse. A compass. A way to understand the opaque, multi-layered system of the medical board, administrative law, and professional rehabilitation—without legalese, judgment, or performative platitudes.

That’s why he created License Defense Partners—to offer the roadmap he wished he had.

Today, Dr. Friedman provides strategic, non-legal peer consulting to physicians, nurses, and other licensed professionals navigating board investigations. Through structured support, documentation coaching, and emotional resilience mentoring, he helps others weather the storm with dignity and direction. His mission is to shine a light for those in the dark—and to remind them that while this journey is harrowing, they do not have to walk it alone.
